a date with gate

To start with, lemme first of all tell you that gate is an examination to get admission into iits for mtech courses. After all my friends started preparing for mba's, i also thought that i should do something. Doing mba was out of question due to some specific reasons. So i landed myself with prepration for gate exam. it included study of all the four years of engineering along with some extra subjects.
YOU urself tell me, is it possible?? the answer is yes, Ribhu has done it successfully, but he's ribhu... So i somehow started preparing for gate in mid august 2009. i even successfully coped up with about 60-70% of the syllabus till nov end, but after that my 7th sem exams started and they finished on 17th dec, and on 20th dec. , infy was gonna visit uiet.
And alas, i got placed. So i packed my gate books on that day, and since that day, they are still in the almirah, unopened.
Well, 14th feb was the D-Day (more famous as V-day, though). On 13th feb, i had a wonderful outing with my friends. My inner self kept me saying, "study dude study, else u would flunk". but the infy nasha is overpowering, and lemme tell u, that even i wanna go join infy from the depth of my heart.
On 13th night, i read harry potter and the philosopher's stone and finished it till 6 am in the morning, took a nap of 2 hours, and got ready to reach my destination for the examination.
I opened the paper, i knew what was gonna happen. All the questions were familiar. i could individually tell which question was from which book or which particular subject(you know, this is also a very difficult thing to do), but alas, for getting an answer, u need to know the formula or theory behind the subject, which, i not at all remembered (in case of many ques).
But i am a guy with strong intuition, so attempted all the paper, not leaving even a single question unanswered. after all, i had to recover my 800 rs. of the form filled, and i wanted iit to use their checking machine to take longer time on my paper (which could atleast sooth me for wasting my 800 rs.).

So i guess i am successful with my mission. The result is awaited though, but not by me, but my family and friends.
i have had my "date with gate" successfully.
hope next year i could date a living person, not a non-living 'gate', on such a pristine day..

Love
x
